These certifications open the door to a higher salary
IT decision-makers in recent years have confirmed that there are two areas that require the most investment: cybersecurity and cloud computing.
It shouldn’t surprise that the two most popular IT certifications according to salary are in cloud and security. These skills are highly sought-after and can command the highest salaries in the industry.
Based on responses to the Global Knowledge 2020 IT Skills and Salary Survey survey (available now), our list of the highest-paying certifications in America is compiled. There was more turnover this year than usual, with seven new certifications cracking the top 15.
We have added a snapshot of the average credential-holder this year. Find out how many certifications they have, what other certifications they are likely to have, and their age. Also, find out what job they might be working in. This information is updated to give a better picture of each certification. These salaries are not just a result of attaining a specific certification. They are a culmination many factors including relevant skills, job roles, tenure, and hard work.

Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect
Average salary: $175,761
The GCP Cloud Architect certification has been associated with the highest IT salaries for the second consecutive year. This credential, which was launched in 2017, allows IT professionals to become certified as cloud architects on the GCP platform. It demonstrates the ability of designing, developing, and managing a secure, scalable, and reliable cloud architecture.
Any organization that operates in the cloud requires cloud skills. IT decision-makers have difficulty finding qualified candidates for open cloud jobs. They are so in demand that the average cloud computing professional in America makes more than $160,000 per year, despite only 4 percent of our respondents.
You must pass the Google Certified Professional – Cloud Architect exam to achieve this certification.
