A:There will not be an ITIL 4 Foundation transition module. A new exam is required to test your knowledge of the new ITIL 4 Foundation guidance, as there is a lot of new material in ITIL 4 Foundation. This credential will be your new credential.
Q: When will ITIL version 3 be discontinued?
A: The transition will take place gradually, so students who are still on their ITIL V3 journey can continue to collect their ITIL V3 Intermediate credits. This will allow them to transition to the ITIL Managing Professional Transition module. AXELOS will not discontinue ITIL V3 (stop publishing books, maintaining exams, or accrediting students), before June 2020.

A:This guide is for ITIL experts and people who have 17 points in the ITIL V3 scheme. It will be available in the next year. It will be used as a transition course for qualified individuals who wish to migrate from their ITIL v3 expert status into the new ITIL 4 Management Professional credential.

OPTION 1 – TakeITIL 4 Foundationand an additional module on a subject of your choice, allowing you to become an ITIL Specialist, Strategist, or Leader.
OPTION 2 – You can continue to work towards accumulating 17 credits from ITIL V3 to be eligible for theITIL Managing Pro Transitionmodule. This will allow you to quickly pass the v3 managing across the lifecycle course and exam.
6 or more ITIL v3 Intermediate/Practitioner credits, and you are interested in ITIL 4If you have 6 credits or more since v3 Foundation, you will probably want to continue collecting ITIL v3 credits to prepare for an easy transition to ITIL 4 and gain theITIL Managing Professionaldesignation.
ITIL Expert and interested in ITIL 4?
You can take theITIL Managing Professional Transitionmodule as soon as it is released to achieve theITIL Managing Professionaldesignation. If you are interested in the ITIL Strategic Leaderstream, then you will only need to complete theITIL Lead Digital & Strategymodule after you have achieved theITIL Management Professional designation.
